Alex Chilton passes away aged 59
Mar 18, 2010
It's not often that all of Flashlight agree on an artist, and I'm actually guessing on this one as well, but it would take someone with a very hard heart not to be saddened by the death of Alex Chilton on Wednesday of a suspected heart attack. Revered for his work with the Box Tops as a teenager and later Big Star, Chilton was hailed as a genius by fans and bands alike and was held up as one of the great cult artists.
There's not too much that can be said in a short news item about such a brilliant songwriter and musician, so watch this space for a full tribute...
In the meantime, just go and stick on Radio City and pay your respects...
