Beastie Boys LP to be released in September?
Mar 9, 2010
Yay! Not only does Adam Yauch (MCA) appear to be doing very well in his battle with cancer, it is hoped that the Beastie Boys' new album, Hot Sauce Committee Part I will be released in September. The album was originally scheduled to be released last year (see below for the brilliant 'Too Many Rappers' single which we have mentioned countless times before, but which deserves another airing), but was obviously delayed while Yauch underwent treatment for cancer of the preaortic gland and lymph node.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Yauch had the following to say: "I feel better. It was touch and go there for a while, but I am finally getting my energy back."
He added, "It was really disappointing to have to hold the record and postpone the tour, but doctor’s orders. We may or may not [release Hot Sauce Committee Part I] depending on how my health is come September. We want to but we have to play it by ear."
Speaking about how the band may make a few changes before releasing the album, he said, "I was just talking to Adam [Horovitz, fellow Beastie] and Mike [D] today on the phone and we were talking about working on it a bit.
"We finished the record over a year ago, so we want to take a look at it and re-evaluate and make sure it is what we want to put out there and that we are still happy with it. I don't think we will change it up too much."
Fingers crossed, and a UK tour wouldn't go amiss either..
