Gorillaz announce intimate UK tour
Mar 11, 2010
Fresh from being announced as the holders of the first ever midweek number 1 album with their third release Plastic Beach, Gorillaz have announced a small UK tour. Now, unlike some Flashlight folk, I would love to go and see them. However, the catch is, you have to be a member of their 'G-Club' fanclub to get a ticket. And to join that club will set you back a cool $24.99...(That's actually pounds but I got bored of my pound sign not working - and I couldn't be bothered to check the exchange rate...)
Now, whether it always cost this to join their fanclub or whether it's just done to ensure that those already signed up are more likely to get tickets I don't know, so I'll hold off calling this a cynical move in line with the old 360 deal issue for now. But seeing as I can't even get on their website at the moment, I'll concede that there are probably a fair few fans willing to part with the cash....
Anyway, the dates are -
March
21 Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms
22 Bristol Trinity
23 Cambridge Juncition
25 Brighton Old Market
26 Birmingham Irish Centre
27 Lincoln Engine Shed
Tickets are not available through the usual channels....
