Yet more Ian Brown news..

Aug 10, 2009

We seem to be pretty much an Ian Brown tribute site at the moment. We could fight it, but then I'd have to look elsewhere for a news story, so you'll read this and at least feign interest, damnit. Anyway, Mr Brown has announced, in a kind of guerrilla (not gorilla) way that is becoming oh so common, that his new Stellify EP is to be released at midnight tonight (Augist 10th) via Itunes. This is a full six weeks before the physical release. It's only getting played for the first time on Zane Lowe tonight, so this is all too confusing for the bunch of luddites that we are. Once it's been played on radio, we'll undoubtedly be able to find a Youtube clip to whack on the site, to prevent you from having to do anything yourselves.

We'd say we're excited about 'Stellify', and the forthcoming My Way LP, but it would be a lie, as it will probably be as hit and miss as everything the man has done post Roses. Ah well, he's still entertaining at least. What other pop star do you know that is running his own Fantasy Football League? Before you reply "well there's The Kooks, Doves, Sultans of Ping FC..", I'll rephrase..what other pop stars have I read about today that are launching a Fantasy Football League? None. You can sign up here to challenge the dirty United supporter, and win prizes if you beat him. Which, assuming he's put that little rat Owen in his side, you undoubtedly will. John Squire was going to put a team in, but he decided to do a load of cocaine instead. Just like he always does. He killed the Stone Roses. Etc.

John Squire didn't really do any cocaine instead of joining a Fantasy Football League. That we know of.

What are the odds on a Roses' reunion? I'll write their setlist if they like: I Wanna Be Adored/She Bangs the Drums/Waterfall/Mersey Paradise/What the World is Waiting For/Sally Cinnamon/Elephant Stone/Standing Here/Made of Stone/This is the One/Where Angels Play/Ten Storey Love Song/I am the Resurrection. Encore: Fool's Gold 9.53... They have the Roses' live on BBC4 this Friday...
