John Squire to auction off artwork denying Roses reunion
Jun 15, 2009
John Squire is auctioning off the artwork he produced earlier in the year to deny that he was interested in reforming The Stone Roses. The rather inventive statement, rather less inventively entitled Statement, will be going under the hammer at Christies on July 1st.
The artwork features the at first glance fairly unequivocal denial of:
"I have no desire whatsoever to desecrate the grave of seminal Manchester pop group The Stone Roses"
Far be it from Flashlight to invent news/clutch at straws, but rumours abound that he may be selling it so he can afford some new guitar strings. That's all we're saying.
