Oasis LP details and other stuff..
Jul 16, 2008
By now, you probably know that the new Oasis single 'The Shock of the Lightning' (for some reason that second 'the' is incredibly annoying) is to be released via the band's own Big Brother label on September 29th. You also probably know that the new LP, Dig Out Your Soul follows a week later. The tracklist is as follows:
Bag It Up (Noel)
The Turning (Andy)
Waiting For The Rapture (Noel)
The Shock Of The Lightning (Noel)
I'm Outta Time (Liam)
(Get Off Your) High Horse Lady (Noel)
Falling Down (Noel)
To Be Where There's Life (Gem)
Ain't Got Nothin' (Liam)
The Nature of Reality (Noel)
Soldier On (Liam)
It should be noted that the songwriting credits as listed above are not yet confirmed. We do know - in a manner of speaking - what their comeback single sounds like, as a twenty second clip of the song's outro has leaked:

As you can hear, it's got some guitars in it, and a lot of drums. It's an outro, and possibly the most pointless official teaser trailer of all time. More interesting, however is this:

It's a Chemical Brothers remix of one of Noel's tracks from the album, 'Falling Down'. It's certainly more Chemicals than Oasis, but we can but hope that that house piano and bassline are retained. If only to watch the more 'conservative' amongst their fanbase spontaneously combust. Finally, as you can see, the album's artwork has also been released. At first glance resembling Terry Gilliam vomiting over the Sergeant Peppers cover, it appears that each part of the collage (designed by Julian House, creator of the brilliant campaign for Primal Scream's 'XTRMNTR') represents either a song title or a lyric from the album.
