Portishead release single for Amnesty International
Dec 10, 2009
You might say that this probably belongs in the tracks section, but we've decided to include it as news for two very good reasons...
1) The fact that Portishead ever release anything has to be considered newsworthy - by our calculations, a new track wasn't due from them until at least March 2018.
2) It's for charidee, so therefore, as our social responsibility (and as part of our community service) we're insisting that you go and buy the download to support a very good cause.
The single, 'Chase The Tear' (and that's tear as in paper, rather than eye according to the Amnesty Website) is rather upbeat and sounds like one of those songs in a film where someone is driving along a road in the dark for ages. But with Beth's unmistakeable caterwaul (in a positive sense) over the top. And if that's not the most evocative description of a song ever, then I don't know what is...
You can download the song exclusively from 7Digital and you can find out more information at the Amnesty Website. So what are you waiting for?
