Verve still Number 1

Sep 8, 2008

Despite droppping in sales by over 50%, the new album, 'Forth' by The Verve has remained at number 1 in the UK album charts. In the two weeks that it's been out, it has now amassed sales of over 100,000 copies, Not bad at all for an album that is essentially not particularly good.

Elsewhere in the charts, there is very little worth noting. Slipknot have fallen to number 8, whilst the Chemical Brothers' new singles collection, 'Brotherhood' goes straight in at number 11.The latest shameless attempt to fleece Michael Jackson fans, 'King Of Pop' is up to number 3, suggesting that there are still a lot of people out there to be fleeced. Good news all round...

The singles chart continues to be headed up by faux lipstick lesbian Katy Perry with 'I Kissed A Girl' for the fifth week, proving that Nuts readers do buy music. As far as the rest of the chart is concerned, nothing very exciting has happened making this story about as interesting as the actual charts themselves.
