The Cube Guys - Baba O'Riley

The Who's Baba O'Riley is a bona fide classic, of that there can be no doubt...as a piece of innovative rock'n'roll it is truly magnificent, with the pulsing organ sound way ahead of its time. Sure, as with much of Pete Townsend's songwriting, it's a trifle overblown, but that is half the fun. In fact, I'd always considered it nigh on perfect...until today, when I realised that it had always been lacking an impossibly outmoded chart dance beat and distorted vocal effect that leaves the impression that the bloke from 2 Unlimited was too expensive. Luckily, The Cube Guys realised this too, and recorded it so I didn't have to. Phew!
